Peruvian Cangrejo Reventado Recipe

The first time I tried Reventado Crab was in a restaurant in northern Peru, in the city of Trujillo, famous for this dish and because more than one president of our country every time he visited the city he went to this place to taste it.

Since then, every time I saw it on a menu I asked for it, until I was able to get the original recipe and now I make it at home, as you can do from today when we share it with you.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo of pre-cooked crab meat
  • 8 beaten eggs
  • 2 tablespoons ground garlic
  • 1 kilo cup red onion diced
  • 2 tablespoons paprica (paprika)
  • 3 tablespoons ground yellow pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup Chinese onion (green part, chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 1 kilo of parboiled yellow cassava
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Place the skillet over medium heat, heat the oil, and brown the onion until translucent, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic, yellow pepper and paprica, brown for 2 more minutes, then season with pepper and salt to taste.
  3. Add the crab, mix well with the other ingredients and cook for 4 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, beat the eggs with the help of a hand whisk or fork.
  5. Add the eggs to the preparation, stir to mix well and cook for 1 more minute, finally turn off the heat and sprinkle the Chinese onion on top.

Attention

WONDERFUL, in less than half an hour we have our Bursting Crab ready, we serve it by arranging a base of parboiled yuca on a platter or plate and the preparation on top. Accompany at the table with a little white rice, lemon juice or slices and hot pepper.

In our research we were not able to obtain the complete history of this dish, but we can assure you that the recipe for the Busted Crab It is definitely Peruvian and was born in the coastal area of ​​the northern region, being the Huanchaco Spa, located in the city of Trujillo, the most famous for this dish.
